My Topol fellowship problem / project:
As healthcare continues to account for a staggering 10% of the UK’s economic activity, we stand on the precipice of a new era, where advanced treatments, longer life expectancies, and rising patient expectations fuel exponential growth. This progress, however, comes with a profound responsibility to safeguard the environment that sustains us all. Our innovative project aims to champion sustainability to Medical Students through the power of an online question bank, immersive learning experiences, and integrated sustainability themes in Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) stations.
This holistic approach is designed to boost medical student engagement and deepen their understanding of sustainability within the healthcare context. We believe that this pioneering initiative will contribute to a more sustainable healthcare system and inspire the next generation of medical leaders to embrace and champion environmental stewardship.
About me
As an Anaesthetic Academic Clinical Fellow (ACF) situated in the North West of England, I am actively engaged in the peri-operative management of patients undergoing surgical procedures, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the process.
With over a decade of experience in online undergraduate medical education, I am passionate about optimising learning experiences for students, particularly in exam preparation. My dedication to promoting sustainability within the NHS fuels my interest in crafting inventive strategies that merge online learning and environmental awareness.
As a sustainability-centric ACF, I strive to create accessible, engaging, and state-of-the-art educational resources that will empower and inspire the future generation of medical professionals. Beyond my professional commitments, I am involved in a number of sports but usually found on a tennis court or swimming in a pool.
